Dear Editor,

First, allow me to congratulate you, and your newspaper for the great work you do, as a communication tool, for the community.

I hope that what I am writing in this letter will be appreciated by the city’s management, and especially, the driver of the city’s vehicle concerned.

Last Friday (March 3) around 9 a.m., while driving along Granville Avenue, heading towards No. 2 Road, a white city truck (licence plate number withheld) came out from Lynas Lane, and turned onto Granville, without even stopping, thereby, forcing me to slam on my brakes to avoid a collision. Fortunately, I was driving at the “legal” speed of 50 km/h!

My concern, or message, here is for such drivers to be more cautious, and courteous, when driving city vehicles (paid by taxpayers) and to treat it like their own vehicles.

However, I would also like to mention that there are far more courteous and good City of Richmond drivers on our road, and they are a credit to the city.

Once again, my appreciation to your newspaper, for the wonderful service you provide, communicating the daily happenings in our city, to our community.

Keep up with the good work.

Happy Tay
