Dear Editor,
I recently had a three-hour major surgery at Richmond Hospital.
I would like to express my gratitude to the entire medical staff who attended to my physical and emotional needs on July 11.
I would particularly like to thank surgeon Dr. Frimer and anesthetist Dr. Dong for both their medical expertise and people skills. I found both doctors to be empathetic, yet highly professional, in all their interactions with me.
In previous surgeries (gall bladder removal, two partial knee replacements), I’ve experienced extreme nausea/vomiting from the anesthetic, post-op. This was not my experience last week. Dr. Dong gave me “a magical cocktail” of anesthetic, and when I woke, post-surgery, I felt fine. I was able to walk out of Richmond Hospital on the same day as my surgery, feeling quite human!
I would also like to thank all the OR nurses, nuclear meds technicians (and especially nurses Christina and Elizabeth). Each interaction I had with all staff was professional, competent and compassionate.
Kudos to the medical staff at Richmond Hospital!
