Dear Editor,
Re: “Hospital donations could be revoked,” News, Oct. 27
Richmond Hospital is now in an emergency state and the situation is critical unless this government gets its act together.
As a former Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse, I know first hand time is of the essence and every second counts when there’s a critical situation.
The hospital is bursting at the seams as our population continues to grow.
As I drive by the downtown core, I see the many, many new condos being built. All these people moving into them will be needing health care and will be using the hospital’s resources, in one form or another.
Richmond Hospital Emergency Department continues to have some of the longest wait times in the region (EDWaitTimes.ca).
Mr. Adrian Dix is blaming the former government, and telling MLA Teresa Wat that the NDP would deliver a faster hospital than the Liberals would have.
To Mr. Dix I would like to say, it’s time for you to put your words into action as Richmond Hospital has a real emergency and we need a new hospital, stat!
