Letter: Plenty of room for refugees

Dear Editor, I think I’ve come up with a pretty good solution to the problem of housing some of the (Syrian) refugees. I’m sure Prime Minister Trudeau’s home is large enough to accommodate, let’s say, four families.

Dear Editor,

I think I’ve come up with a pretty good solution to the problem of housing some of the (Syrian) refugees.

I’m sure Prime Minister Trudeau’s home is large enough to accommodate, let’s say, four families. And since we have 30 federal cabinet ministers, they could each take in at least one family. That takes care of 34 families right there.

Now, we come to British Columbia. Here we have Premier Clark with 23 members of the executive council which could take in another 24 families.

And yes, John McCallum, federal minister of immigration and refugees. I’m sure he could squeeze in a family or two.

That comes to some 60 families.

So simple. I wonder why I didn’t think of it before?
