The relatively new River Road intersection with Gilbert Road continues to cause angst for some Richmond drivers

Dear Editor,

RE: “I miss the old River Road,” Letters, Oct. 11.

P. Barkley, I share your disappointment and frustrations about River Road.

Twenty-five years ago, I lived in Steveston and River Road was my favourite route to Vancouver — not anymore.

When city hall first came out with the plans, I wrote to local newspapers to protest, but to no avail. Now, we can see the big mess they have made of the area.

I have a whole list of complaints. The fact there is only one lane lining up at the junction of Gilbert Road and River Road particularly annoys me.

I, too, long for a return to the “original River Road.”

How about reconnecting the part that was cut off by the Oval, next to the river?
