Dear Editor,
Re: “Driving with entitlement,” Letters, Jan. 25.
I could not agree more with Bruce Macleod. There seems to be too many among us who totally disregard posted speed limits on our streets, not to mention dangerous driving in parking lots and especially residential areas.
I believe the reason why so many have this sense of entitlement that Bruce mentions is the lack of enforcement by the local RCMP.
I also believe one of the reasons this situation exists is due to the lack of funding for traffic safety from the city.
When I asked if it was not possible for more of a police presence in our neighbourhood, I was told that there were not enough resources and that traffic was underfunded. Perhaps those on council who plan to seek re-election should take this under advisement.
