Re: Ironworkers Union supporting the BC Liberals Massey Bridge project.
I was interested to see that the Ironworkers Union Local 97 is in support of the BC Liberals’ plan to build a high-level bridge at the Massey Tunnel crossing.
I can understand that they need to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads amid the desperately high-priced cost of living in Premier Christy Clark’s B.C.
But if this project is anything like the BC Liberals’ other mega projects, such as the Cambie corridor Canada Line, it will be a public-private partnership (P3) with no guarantee that it will be union-built.
Good luck in getting them to change that policy!
