Dear Editor,
Re: “Mylora site causing concern,” Richmond News, June 21, 2017
In the June 21 edition I was sad to read that they are going to re-develop the Mylora No. 5 Road lands. Not more townhouses and apartments, I hope.
I have been a Richmond resident for 50 years and, yes, things have to change but, as a senior, myself and others loved to golf on that small, affordable course.
Ladies as far away as North Vancouver used to come to Richmond to golf and stay for dinner. It was also a good course for all ages learning to golf.
It’s great that the city is building a multi-million dollar seniors centre, but some of us are still able and enjoy getting out in the fresh air and meeting new people.
Maybe the city should have thought about keeping it as a municipal golf course.
