Letter writer, Sheila Rathburn says, ”This is Canada, we’re supposed to be a melting pot”
I would offer that rather than a “melting pot,” which can be bland and messy, that Canada has been described as “a mosaic” made up of several cultures that can/should come together and integrate to form an identity that is far more interesting.
The Steveston Canada Day Parade, for example, has been enhanced over the years with participation from so many cultural groups — all celebrating Canada Day.
