Dear Editor,
Last Sunday, I visited our local pub, the Pump House on Blundell and No. 2 roads.
I was advised by both the regulars and staff that March 27 will be the last day of service after decades of operations.
It will be then bulldozed and replaced with a project yet to be made public, but rumoured to be more condos.
This is another nail in the coffin of the concept of a “neighbourhood.”
No more local gatherings, no more recognizables in a social atmosphere, no local pub to walk to during a warm summer’s night.
No consideration for the needs of the neighborhood, just the dollar.
Perhaps we’ll be lucky and it’s just a rumour…like when pigs fly.
