Dear Editor,
Re: “Richmond — in pictures,” News, Aug. 26.
Thanks to Bill McNulty for his latest book on Richmond’s history. I was interested to know there will be a section on Japanese-Canadian pioneers who were so instrumental in the inauguration and expansion of Steveston’s impressive fishing industry, along with other early pioneers and indigenous people.
My family were not fishers (my grandfather’s farm is now part of the Abbotsford International Airport) but I know there is much to tell of the part Japanese Canadians have played in Richmond and New Westminster’s history, and happy to know some will be told in Councillor McNulty’s new book.,
