Dear Editor.
I am writing to you with the hope that I will get to the bottom of this problem.
I am a 25-year resident of Steveston and find it quite appalling that we have no open washrooms at Gary Point Park after 5 p.m. It states very clearly that it’s open until dusk. Now that the sun sets at about 6 p.m, shouldn’t the washrooms be open at least until 6 p.m.?! Where is one supposed to go, in the bush? Isn’t this one of the basics of a civilized country?
