Re: “Beefing up the law,” Letters, Oct. 27
While Bismarck may have said, “Anyone who likes the law, or sausages, shouldn’t watch either one being made,” I would argue just the exact opposite is true.
If you want good sausage, or good public policy, you better darn well watch what’s going into it! It’s when people are not paying attention, that the less scrupulous will try to slip something in.
Accountability and a watchful eye makes for good governance and good sausage! Bon Appétit
