Letter: It's not just the raccoons that tear up Richmond's lawns

Dear Editor, Thank you for printing those rebuttal letters about the demand to cull raccoons. I really liked the one telling readers to be responsible for their own grass issues.

Dear Editor,

Thank you for printing those rebuttal letters about the demand to cull raccoons.

I really liked the one telling readers to be responsible for their own grass issues.

However, it is not just raccoons that are looking for food in the grass.

I watched in total awe of the teamwork by crows, who systematically destroyed the neighbour’s grass in an afternoon.

They first quartered the grass cutting dotted lines with their beaks.

Then two used their beaks to push up the grass, while the other two rolled it back with their feet.

After a while, they switched places.

While crows are not my favourite birds, I was so impressed by their skills.
