Dear Editor,

On Sunday (June 3) I stopped at 7-11 briefly.

When I returned to my vehicle I put the keys on the seat and promptly locked the door

Silly senior moment! In no time at all I had people trying to help me. There was a lovely woman and her young son, a passer by and his two children and another gentleman I had spoken to briefly and he tried tirelessly, coat hanger in hand, to assist me.

They all came to my rescue, but with all their efforts, no luck. I had called for or a tow truck knowing they could help and I got in the car in no time.

One gentleman even tried to pay the tow truck fellow, but I told him, “yes, I am a pensioner, but I will pay this myself, thank you so much.”

To all the beautiful rescuers, a very special thank you. You have reaffirmed my belief in humanity. Your kindness will always be remembered.

Hugs to you all.
