Dear Editor,

Re: “Man charged after Canada Line assault,” News, Dec. 8.

My heart goes out to the young Richmond resident, Noor Fadel, for being subjected to an attack by a relentless bully.

Noor stood her ground and didn’t let the bully have his way. The good Samaritan, Jake Taylor, has set an excellent example by coming to Noor Fadel’s aid and scaring away her attacker.

This unfortunate incident goes to show that in this scary environment there are still young men such as Jake Taylor who are willing to put themselves at risk in order to help a fellow citizen in distress.

Jake deserves our compliments for standing up for an innocent victim who was facing a very dangerous situation. We need more people like him. To Noor Fadel, I would like to say well done for standing up to a person with a twisted mind. You handled the situation bravely.

Hats off to both of you!
