Dear Editor,
This is just a short thank you to our local RCMP.
With so much talk of an independent police alternative, I’m glad the system we have will not be changing, for every time I’ve ever had cause to call the non-emergency line, my citizen concerns were handled with professionalism. And in an emergency situation, these first responders along with B.C. Ambulance, were phenomenal.
We, as Richmondites, enjoy prompt response time and one can only imagine, dealing with situations — from the benign to the downright dangerous — how much dedication it takes, these people who protect and serve.
The country-wide network of RCMP really is an amazing system when you think about it and its comforting to know that thread will continue to provide such safety for our community with all its interconnected resources.
Richmond isn’t perfect, we have problems like any other rapidly growing community, but for the most part we are a safe place and the RCMP should be given credit for that more often.
