Dear Editor,
People wanting to ban trucks from the Massey Tunnel at rush hour need to consider the implications.
TransLink does a good job of trying to balance the interests of the commuter vs. the transportation industry.
We already pay a considerable premium on food and often that’s due to congestion delays.
Just about everything you buy is handled by a truck. If you delay trucks further, or force them into night hours or other inefficiencies, it will increase transportation costs and put the price of many items you buy higher.
Roads are not just here for commuters. They are a key part of our transportation system.
