An all-candidates meeting can be very informative as it gives people a chance to hear all the candidates running in the upcoming municipal election.
At the same time, one can come away shaking one’s head.
Such was the case, recently, when the topic of the Garden City Lands was discussed.
The lands was Harold Steves’ successful project. What was amazing to me was how the other councilors were patting themselves on the back for saving this “jewel” within the city centre — “like New York.”
These were the same councilors who wanted to build sport centres, track fields and housing on this very land.
