Open letter to Malcolm Brodie:
Please spend a month commuting through the Massey Tunnel both ways during peak hours, and let’s see if your opinion on the bridge proposal is the same.
Sitting in your cozy office at Richmond City Hall you have lost touch with the people’s needs. Population density increases mean we need more avenues to move around the Lower Mainland. You were mayor when the Canada Line was built; did I hear you say you wanted it extended out to Surrey and Ladner?
During your term, you have destroyed Richmond by overbuilding, without expanding major road arteries. I honestly don’t think you travel out of Richmond during peak hours, otherwise you would understand the traffic bottlenecks that working people are encountering.
