Dear Editor
On Saturday, Nov. 19 the Steveston United Church held its wonderful, Annual Bazaar.
I look forward every year to this event because, to me, it signifies the start of the Christmas season.
This little church and its community embodies the true Christian spirit. Everyone, whether they are parishioners of the church or not, are given a warm welcome and are quickly surrounded by the joys of Christmas music and carols performed by talented members of the local community.
The church reflects the heritage of Steveston, not only in the faces of the parishioners but also in the wonderful and different goodies that are available for sale. How about taking home a lunch of freshly prepared chow mein and rice, some delicious shortbread or other home made treats available for sale?
The preserves and pickles are varied; all home made using fresh produce sourced from local farms and very reasonably priced.
The silent auction is fun! So many different and delightful things that have been generously donated by local businesses or members of the church.
All in all, this is a grand way to spend a few hours chatting, having coffee with neighbours and sharing a home baked goody.
To those reading this, I hope to see you there next year!
