Letter: Artistic success in Richmond

Dear Editor, Re: “Is this really art?” Letters , Feb. 15. As you published Carlie Holland’s quite strident critique of the public art at the south end of No. 2 Road, you may as well publish my thoughts on it, as well.

A relatively new structure that has appeared at the south foot of No. 2 Road at dyke has piqued the curiosity of at least one Richmond News reader (below).

As you published Carlie Holland’s quite strident critique of the public art at the south end of No. 2 Road, you may as well publish my thoughts on it, as well.

 Living not far away, I see the work quite often, and I think it is quite beautiful — one of the more successful pieces of public art around Richmond.

I guess if you consider art to be entirely a matter of taste, my opinion brings the score to 1-1. I don’t feel like writing endless words about it, but I find it enhances the site very well.
