Dear Editor,
Re: Thank you for printing Mr. Arnold’s letter in the Richmond News Feb. 19. I am in full agreement with his words and was convinced furthermore when reading the column by Matt Hoekstra about Mr. Bill Reid’s Jade Canoe sculpture at YVR. The message this work of art represents is strong, yet, obvious. I won’t claim to possess any answers to this endless riddle called humanity but want to mention to all who agree with Mr. Arnold’s point of view that hope is in all of us, regardless of economical status, ideology, religious affiliation and cultural background. If anything great is possible within us all, it surely will begin with expressing our opinion in a respectful manner, considering all who will read our words as our equals, brothers and sisters on this dirt ball flying in space we call earth.
Must we be reminded that there is no other place for us to go to if we wreck this one?
