Dear Mrs. Ilich;

All of us at the Richmond Sunrise Rotary Club would like to extend our condolences to you and your family for the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and philanthropist.

Both you and Mr. Ilich were long time supporters of our annual auction and gala. For 22 years, you purchased two tables at our May event, providing opportunities for not only your family to attend, but many others in the community.

When you were in attendance, you generously purchased many of the auction prizes both live and silent to assist us in raising almost $1 million for local and international charities. Of these funds, almost $200,000 went to the Richmond Hospital Foundation (a charity close to all of our hearts). The legacy of the Milan and Maureen Ilich Foundation cannot be underestimated for not just the Richmond Sunrise Rotary or the Hospital Foundation, but all the other organizations that you have encouraged over the years.

We wanted to ensure that you were aware of our deep appreciation for his impact on the community of Richmond and in particular our Rotary Club. Mr. Ilich will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. As per the family's request, we will be making a donation in Mr. Ilich's name to the Vancouver General Hospital Foundation.
