The Editor, Re: "Please make language pain stop," Painful Truth column, Oct. 7. I gnash my teeth with every faux pas. My absolute worst peeve is when people use "that" instead of the correct "who.

I gnash my teeth with every faux pas. My absolute worst peeve is when people use "that" instead of the correct "who." "The couple that boarded the bus" should read, "the couple who boarded the bus. When referring to a person or people, "who" should be used. When referring to an object, anything that is not human, it is alright to use "that."
