End Bill 24 for the sake of our children

Hanover NH - Open letter to Premier Clark and concerned citizens, I ask for your support to end Bill 24 now, in order to reduce risk to B.C.'s food security and save the ALR.
Hanover NH - Open letter to Premier Clark and concerned citizens, I ask for your support to end Bill 24 now, in order to reduce risk to B.C.'s food security and save the ALR.The newest International Panel on Climate Change report in April shows that climate change will drastically alter agricultural yields, so now is the time to secure B.C.'s arable lands. As a 22 year old woman, I ask our politicians to steward B.C.'s resources and strengthen its resilience to climate change risks for our younger generations.I used to live in Richmond, where the ALR keeps urban sprawl contained. The land that the ALR protects not only supports agriculture on some of the most fertile soil, but acts as a carbon sink - cleaning both our air and water. It helps build the connection between food and people, so that our children will not assume that food comes from the back rooms of SmartFoods.Passing Bill 24 is a backwards move, especially when we know climate change is a serious threat to our food and water, while urban sprawl diminishes our quality of life.Stop Bill 24 now, to save the ALR and make a longterm investment for British Columbians, which pays off every day.Lusha ZhouHanover NH
