Lawrence Lim asserts that "I am a Canadian first, a very proud Canadian, and I will defend Canada with my life."
This is fantastic to hear and he is exactly the type of citizen Canada needs and deserves. Hundreds of thousands of us immigrants come to Canada every year and it is worth remembering what brought us here, Canadian culture and customs!
Canada's famed Charter of Rights and Freedoms includes freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom from religion and equality for all.
Canadians' renowned qualities of tolerance, kindness, politeness, inclusiveness and penchant for giving second and third chances should inspire immigrants to embrace this country's culture and customs and help make it a wonderful place to live.
