The Editor,
Re: "Year of 'Abandoned Rabbit,'" Letters, April 11.
Ms. Howard's letter points out the dilemma facing abandoned pet rabbits - the Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resources has decided these former pet rabbits are now wildlife.
It is now time for Richmond council to deal with the issue through a humane neutering program and re-location of the population of rabbits to a safer area.
In addition, their owners should be reminded that abandoning pet rabbits in the wild is considered to be animal cruelty in the Criminal Code.
