Highlights of what to expect at Whistler's Cornucopia 2022, which will be held from Nov. 4 to 6, 10 to 20 and 25 to 27, 2022.

It’s that time of year again when there’s lots of excitement at Whistler. Instead of skiing, the anticipation is all about turning food and beverages loose. Cornucopia 2022, the 11-day wine, beer, spirit, and food extravaganza opens Nov. 4 and runs until the 27th.

Cornucopia features 100+ events: Signature Events, Food and Drink Seminars, Culinary Cooking Presentations, and Restaurant and Bar Events are yours for the choosing. Mary Zinck from Tourism Whistler’s Travel Media Team has been to Cornucopia 19 times!

“It’s a festival that celebrates two of my favourite things in life, food and wine,” Zinck confessed.  

Friday November 4th

The Murder Mystery Dinner at Bearfoot Bistro 7 to 10 p.m.

If you are into solving mysteries, enjoy a night of theatrics in the Alps with a spectacular four-course dinner from one of Whistler’s top restaurants, music, and drinks. ($176.42)

Thursday Nov. 10th

Signature Event. House Party: the Best of BC 6 p.m.

There’s music, local food, domestic wines, spirits and beers along with the best of local music. A perennial sell-out! ($80.58) 

Friday Nov. 11th

Drink Seminar: A Closer Study of the Lillooet Terroir 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Join Winemaker Alessandro Nel and Sales Manager Mark Coster for a guided tasting of Fort Berens Estate Winery wines and discussion about how the Lillooet terroir influences the wines. Fort Berens was recently named the third-best small winery in Canada! ($60.42)

Drink Seminar: Top Value Wines 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Tyler Dawson and Mya Brown combine their experience as sommeliers and wine educators to recommend wines that over-deliver on quality at various prices. You will experience that it’s possible to find outstanding values regardless of your budget. Let’s all drink to that! ($60.42)

Signature Event: Cellar Door 8 to 11 p.m.

This event is for connoisseurs who have champagne tastes. Enter the world of fine wines and champagnes by uncorking top-shelf bottles (valued $35 and up) from international regions. Appies and music will accompany the tastings. ($128.90)

Wild Blue: Marques de Riscal Winemaker’s Dinner 6 to 10 p.m. 

Enjoy the stunning Spanish flavours of Marques de Riscal, one of Rioja’s oldest and well know wine estates. Savour the multi-course tasting menu by Wild Blue’s Chef/Partner, Alex Chen. ($159. SOLD OUT.)

Saturday November 12th

Drink Seminar: Ciders of the World: Shaking the Tree 11:30 am to 1 p.m.

If wine and beer had a love child, it would look a lot like cider with its low alcohol content and appealing effervescence. Paul Watkin leads this guided tasting of ciders with classic styles from premium regions. Enjoy Basque Cidra from Spain, Normandie Cidre from France, English Dry Cider, and BC Cider. You will walk away appreciating how cider can be enjoyed throughout the year, from patio season to wintertime festive gatherings. ($60.42)

Culinary Stage: A Mass of Asian Flavours 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Chopped Canada winner, Alana Maas, takes you through Asia. Savour the delicious flavours of her inspired tasting as you learn tips, tricks, and stories gained from her rich kitchen experience. ($56.05)

Culinary Stage: Seacuterie Board with Chef Julian Bond 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Chef Bond will help you make a big splash at your next event during this sit-down informative tasting. Learn how to make Blueberry Gravlax, Albacore Tuna Poke, Dungeness Crab Cocktail, Sturgeon Bacon, and Slow Cooked Salmon. ($56.05)

Signature Event: CRUSH Grand Tasting 8:30 to 11 p.m.

This is the flagship Cornucopia event. Sip and savour over 300 wines, both BC and international along with bites from local chefs. ($102.17)

Thursday Nov.17th

SIDECUT x SLCC x Fort Berens Dinner 5:30 to 9 p.m.

SIDECUT Steakhouse, Fort Berens Winery, and the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre celebrate the cuisine of the Sea to Sky region. Traditional First Nations ingredients and preparations with contemporary flair with a menu that celebrates the bountiful fall harvest. ($154.94 or $208.14 with wine pairing.)

Friday Nov. 18th

Taste of the World: Tapas 8 to 10:30 p.m.

Indulge in delicious Spanish and Latin tapas. Guests will experience the magic of pairing a variety of tasty tapas with wines, beers, and spirits. Olé! ($80.58)

Quattro: Experience La Dolce Vita with Antinori 6 to 10 p.m.

Indulge in an evening of luxury with a 6-course wine-paired dinner featuring the wines of Marchesi Antinori. With pairings thoughtfully curated by Quattro, guests will feel like they have been transported to Italy and back in time for a night. ($439.55)

Sunday Nov. 20th

Signature Event: Drag Me To Brunch 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Slap on some sparkle and your most sickening outfit and grab a seat at this Sunday Brunch Extravaganza. Feast on your favourite brunch classics as you sip mimosas while watching Canada’s most loved drag queens work the catwalk. Brunch will never be the same! ($80.56)
