Celebrate more, not less

Re: "Keep sermon multireligious," Letters, Nov. 14.

The writer who suggested that the Remembrance Day Sermon be edited to eliminate references to Jesus and Christianity is making the same mistake others have before.

The answer in situations like this is not to eliminate everything and neutralize the whole speech. I would suggest that other speakers representing different groups also be invited to speak. Memorials I have witnessed in which there is no reference to Jesus and his resurrection, seem completely empty. Multiculturalism shouldn't mean that we don't celebrate anything, but rather we celebrate all.
