The Editor,
Re: "We'd love single-family life," Letters, June 7.
I sympathize with Mr. Johnson and his desire to enjoy living in a single-family home.
Why blame the baby boomers?
We were the hippie generation - sex, drugs, rock and roll, flower power and anti-war.
A simple examination of the Statistics Canada CPI data will show the boomers were the ones most affected by the rapid price increases starting
in about 1971 through to 1983.
I think most of the boomers are innocent of this charge, but urban planners, real estate speculators and others are not.
