Be helpers, not honkers

The Editor,

This is a shout-out to the AWESOME samaritans who stopped to help a man on Monday Sept. 8, between Francis and Williams roads on No. 1 Road.

A poor gentleman's motorized chair got stuck between the sidewalk and the grass and he was waving for help.

As I slowed down to pull over, the sounds of honking began. (Yes, I was signalling.)

Two other cars pulled over right away and people got out to help. More honking.

I understand that people are in a rush or don't like the flowing traffic to stop suddenly, but please remember in the future you honkers, that a man who needed help could have been one of your family members or perhaps will be you one day.

Those who did stop to help, awesome job on keeping our Richmond community a "caring" place to live.
