Richmond - The Editor, The Harper Conservatives have demonstrated once again that they have no respect for Canadian values of democratic traditions, honesty and parliamentary rules.The Fair Elections Act they are now trying to ram through parliament is the latest example. It is anything but "fair." This is the the party that brought us robo calls and campaign financing scams.This act will weaken the fairness of the present elections act in favour of one that will tilt the election process in favour of the Conservatives.At all levels of government, we've always had all-party committees prepare and examine proposed legislation that changed the electorial process. But not the Harper Conservatives! Our country is not some Third World dictatorship and Canadians should stand up and speak out before we become one.Greg Halsey-BrandtRichmond
