After months of anticipation, TransLink has announced that Vancouver-born actor is set to be the new voice of transit.
Previously, TransLinkhad made arrangements with Morgan Freeman to record transit announcements as a promotion for its new tap-to-pay feature. However, the transit authority terminated the agreement in May following reports of sexual misconduct allegations. At the time, Vancouver Sun reporter Stephanie Ip nominated Rogen as the new voice and Rogen promptly tweeted out an offer to be the replacement.
Yo if they need a replacement now let me know.

On Thursday, TransLink finally announced its “partnering with Vancouver-born actor and director Seth Rogen to promote transit ridership and improve customer experience while using Vancouver’s growing transit system.”
TransLink tweeted a video featuring Rogen, giving riders a sneak peak of what the new guest voice will sound like and what messages he will be delivering.
“I know your bag is probably very nice and you care deeply for it, but that doesn’t mean it needs its own seat,” said Rogen in the video.
Rogen also mentions that he is a frequent rider of the Canada Line in the video and often visits the Richmond Night Market.
“Mr. Rogen offered to work with TransLink free of charge and we accepted his offer in the pursuit of providing a better customer service experience and to share pride in the region,” said Steve Vanagas, vice president of customer communications for TransLink.
Transit riders can expect to hear Rogen’s voice on TransLink announcements in the coming weeks.
