Three COVID-19 cases detected in Richmond in past week

Three new COVID-19 cases have been detected in Richmond over the past week bringing the total test-positive cases to 104 during the pandemic.

BC Centre for Disease Control released its latest numbers late Thursday afternoon.

The data showed five new cases in Richmond over the past two weeks, whereas there were 51 new cases in Vancouver – the maps have aggregate information for the past two weeks. Vancouver has had more than double the number of total COVID-19 cases based on population when compared to Richmond.

Vancouver Coastal Health also declared an outbreak on Wednesday at the long-term care facility Richmond Lions Manor Bridgeport with one staff member infected. According to the VCH outbreak list, COVID-19 has been detected on the second floor of the long-term care facility.

The long-term care facility is located at 9020 Bridgeport Rd. near Great Canadian Way.

Dr. Bonnie Henry, the provincial health officer, announced there have been 47 new cases detected throughout the province in the past 24 hours.
