A snowfall warning is back in place for Richmond, after the city got a mere one-day reprieve from multiple days of winter weather warnings.
According to Environment Canada, snowfall accumulation of five to 10 centimetres is expected by Friday morning. There may also be periods of rain.
“There is potential for snow to be fairly heavy during the late afternoon and early evening rush hour,” Environment Canada’s statement says.
“Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.”

Richmond and other parts of Metro Vancouver were under a previous snowfall warning that began Sunday and lasted until early Wednesday morning. The city saw nearly a foot of snow accumulation, which led to the first snow day for public schools in years, traffic snarls and transit delays.
The City of Richmond says crews and trucks are continuing to treat and prepare roads in anticipation of this evening’s possible snow.
DRIVE AND WALK carefully this morning, it’s cold and could be icy in places. Crews and trucks have been out all night treating roads in advance of morning traffic and will continue preparing roads for possible snow this evening. #RichmondBC #BCStorm pic.twitter.com/ffURm9IODI
