Richmond’s Han Xu has waited more than a week figuring out how to tell his wife that he won more than $111,000 on Lotto Max.

And what did he come up with? Hiding the winning cheque in a bucket of fried chicken.

“Yeah, I want to do something to mess with her, and I know she absolutely hates fried chicken. Something like that would be funny,” said Xu, who matched six of the seven numbers plus the bonus in the draw on Friday, Oct. 2 to win $111,387.60.

“I opened the BCLC! Lotto App and it said $111,387.60, and to this day I still thought it was a glitch. I didn’t want to tell her and have her be disappointed that it was a glitch.”

Xu said, when the time is right, he’d like to take his wife on vacation to an exotic destination “with a small hut over blue water.”
