Massive police presence in Richmond city centre

More than a dozen RCMP vehicles were lined up along Ackroyd Road, at No. 3 Road, Friday morning, with police appearing to focus on a building at the northwest corner of the intersection.

Police cars were also stationed along No. 3 Road at Westminster Highway, Lansdowne Road as well as at Ackroyd and Cooney roads.

Richmond RCMP was contacted, but said they would not be discussing details. However, it’s understood that there are no suspicious circumstances and there’s no cause for the public to be alarmed.

A police dog was also on site. The incident appeared to be wrapping up around 8:30 a.m.
