A cleaning employee at Richmond’s Parker Place mall has been tested positive for COVID-19.

In a notice, the mall says it was notified by their cleaning service contractor that one of the night shift employees was tested positive for the flu-like virus.

The employee last worked at the mall on Friday, Oct. 9 from 7:30 p.m. until 12 a.m. and was mainly responsible for cleaning the washrooms and the mall’s public area.

Parker place has asked for another group of employees from the cleaning company to clean the mall for the next 14-days.

The cleaning contractor has also been requested to clean and disinfect the whole facility.

Meanwhile, the mall’s security guard, who also worked on Oct. 9, was asked to stay home until his test results come out.

“We will be closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation as clients and employees’ health is considered as our top priority,” said the notice.
