Homicide investigators have identified the woman whose body was found in a Richmond city centre home Thursday as 19-year-old Aspen Pallot.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team also say they’ve arrested a man in connection with her death.

“Detectives believe this was not a random act,” Cpl. Frank Jang said.

He’s appealing to people who knew Pallot to tell police anything they know about what she did the day before she died.

Richmond RCMP initially responded to the call after midnight. Officers arrived at an older-style, detached home on the south-west corner of Westminster Highway and Minoru Boulevard where Pallot was found.

They deemed the death suspicious, and IHIT is now calling it a homicide. The two police forces are working in conjunction with the BC Coroner’s Service.
