OHL: Robertson scores in OT as Petes close in on playoff spot with 1-0 win over Colts

BARRIE, Ont. — Tucker Robertson scored the only goal of the game in overtime and the Peterborough Petes closed in on a playoff spot with a 1-0 win over the Barrie Colts in Ontario Hockey League action Tuesday.

Michael Simpson stopped all 37 shots he faced for the Petes (26-33-6), who have a five-point lead over the Sudbury Wolves for eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.

Sudbury, which beat Niagara 6-3 on Tuesday, has a game in hand on the Petes.

Matteo Lalama made 18 saves for the Colts (33-22-7) , who sit fifth in the East and have clinched a playoff spot.

Peterborough was 0-for-1 on the power play, while Barrie was 0-for-3.

SUDBURY, Ont. — Alex Assadourian and Dominik Jendek each had two goals and an assist as the Wolves beat Niagara and kept pace with the Petes in the race for the last Eastern Conference playoff spot.

Ethan Larmand and Nick DeGrazia also scored for Sudbury (23-34-7).

Dakota Betts, Liam Van Loon and Declan Waddick scored for the IceDogs (22-38-4), who were eliminated from the post-season.
