TORONTO — Four swimmers are included on U Sports' annual list of its academic all-Canadians.

UBC's Markus Thormeyer, Manitoba's Kelsey Wog, Montreal's Marie-Lou Lapointe and Dalhousie's Isabel Sarty are the swimmers on the list, released by the governing body of Canadian university sports on Monday.

Others honoured were Laurentian basketball player Kadre Gray, Laval runner Jean-Simon Desgagnes, fellow track and field competitor Matt Coolen of Dalhousie and Queen's rugby/basketball player Sophie de Goede.

A formal ceremony at Rideau Hall will not be held this year during the COVID-19 pandemic. The eight athletes will take part in a virtual conversation with Governor General Julie Payette in mid-February.

The academic all-Canadian team has been selected each year since 2013.
