The South Fraser Championship next week is now the target for the hungry McMath Wildcats senior girls soccer team, after they beat the Hugh Boyd Trojans to the Richmond title on Thursday.

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID, high school girls’ soccer finally returned recently to the fields in Richmond.

And the Wildcats returned to their winning ways by capping off an undefeated regular season, putting down the Trojans 3-0 to claim the R.S.S.A.A. Championship Cup.

It was McMath who took the lead with two goals in the first half through Teagan Ng and Olivia Gomez, before putting the game to bed in the second with a goal from Jaya Punia.

South Frasers then the provincials

The Wildcats will now tackle the South Frasers next week with the hopes of claiming a berth to the BC High School Provincial Tournament from June 1-3 in Cloverdale.
