The McMath Wildcats and Steveston-London Sharks will meet again tonight at RC Palmer, this time for the Richmond Senior Girls Basketball Championship.
The Wildcats enter the 7 p.m. tilt as the six-time defending champion and the heavy favourite too after a 96-57 home floor win over the Sharks last week.
A better start for Steveston-London is imperative after producing just 10 first half points in the initial meeting.
The teams could very well meet again at next week’s inaugural South Fraser Zone Championships that will be hosted by McMath. Also at stake tonight are the No. 1 and No. 3 seeds for that eight team tournament that starts on Monday.
The Wildcats advanced to the city final with an 83-31 win over RC Palmer while the Sharks got past the Hugh Boyd Trojans 63-48. The Trojans and Griffins will play the third place game at 5:30 p.m. that will also determine seeding for the South Fraser 2A Championships.
