Sockeyes Teddy Bear Toss Game goes tonight

The Richmond Sockeyes will take on Port Moody tonight at 7 p.m. in their annual Teddy Bear Toss Game. Fans can bring their own plush toys are purchase bears at the door for $5 to throw on the ice after the Sockeyes score their first goal.

The fur is guaranteed to be flying tonight at Minoru Arenas.

The Richmond Sockeyes will be hosting their annual Teddy Bear Toss Night when they take on the Port Moody Panthers at 7 p.m. Fans can purchase bears at the door for $5 through Pet Smart or just bring their own. Richmond Firefighters will also be hosting a 50/50 draw with proceeds going to the Richmond Fire Fighters Burn Unit.

Fans are encouraged to be in their seats early, especially with the way the Sockeyes have been scoring in bunches of late. Richmond has 27 goals in its last three games including a 13-4 romp over Mission last week on home ice.

The Sockeyes (19-7-2-1) will play their final game of 2018 on Sunday at Grandview before entering the Christmas break. They will be hosting the third annual Pacific Junior Hockey League Winter Classic Jan. 4-6 — a league showcase event that features all 12 teams in action at Minoru.
