Richmond's Camryn Rogers opened the indoor track and field season in impressive fashion this weekend in Seattle.

Camryn Rogers’ sophomore season at Cal-Berkeley is off to an impressive start and she did it close to home.

The Richmond hammer throw standout  recorded the second-best mark in school history at 21.06m to take first place at the University of Washington Indoor Invitational on Friday in Seattle.

Overall, Rogers had three throws that surpassed her best throw from 2018.

Last summer, the McMath graduate and Kajaks member captured the IAAF U20 World Championship in Finland. She also broke the Cal-Berkeley school outdoor record in her freshman season.

The Golden Bears will be returning to Seattle two more times in the coming month — Feb. 8-9 for the Husky Classic and Feb. 22-23 for the Mountain Pacific Sports Indoor Championships.
