Richmond's Crisologo helps SFU snatch GNAC golf title

Michael Crisologo was part of the team that won in a two-hole playoff against Western Washington

Richmond golfer Michael Crisologo capped off a great season last week when he helped his Simon Fraser Red Leafs team win the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) men’s team championship.

Crisolgo, who tied for ninth in the individual competition at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course in Idaho, helped SFU see off Western Washington after a two-hole playoff to bag their first conference title since 2018.

Both Simon Fraser and Western Washington carded three-round scores of 847, forcing the first team playoff at a GNAC Championships since 2014.

The Richmond News reported in March how was handed a prestigious North American college golf circuit accolade – the GNAC Men’s Golf Player of the Week award – after placing eighth at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout.
