Best youth soccer players in BC heading to Richmond this weekend

Some of the best young soccer players in province will converge in Richmond this weekend for the 2022 BC Soccer Premier Cup.

The cup is the finale to the youth Premier League season and is being hosted by Richmond/Vancouver-based Fusion FC, which has many teams competing in the various age group finals.

Games will be played at Minoru Oval and Minoru 2, near Gateway Theatre, with the boys’ finals taking place on Saturday and the girls on Sunday.

Competing for a spot at the Canadian Nationals

The provincial champions in the under 15 and U17 categories will qualify to compete at the National Club Championships organized by the Canadian Soccer Association later this year.

Fusion’s 2007 aged girls and boys teams are competing in the finals for a spot in the nationals.

Fusion has five teams competing in finals this weekend:

Saturday, June 25:

2006 Boys - Fusion FC vs. Mountain United, 10:00 am, Minoru 2

2007 Boys - Fusion FC vs. Coquitlam Metro-Ford, 12:30 pm, Minoru 2 (National Championship Qualifier)

Sunday, June 26:

2009 Girls - Fusion FC vs. Coastal FC, 10:00 am, Minoru 2

2006 Girls – Fusion FC vs. Surrey United, 12:30 pm, Minoru 2

2007 Girls - Fusion FC vs. Mountain United, 3:00 pm, Minoru 2 (National Championship Qualifier)
