Woman's body found on river bank in Richmond

She was discovered on Saturday afternoon, close to No 5 and River roads

A woman’s body was found on the banks of the north arm of the Fraser River on the weekend.

Richmond RCMP told the Richmond News that there are no suspicious circumstances to the grim discovery on Saturday afternoon.

Mounties say the woman has been identified as a person who went missing from Vancouver on April 19.

According to police, her family members and the BC Coroner Service have been advised and, out of respect for the family, her name is not being released at this time.

Police have confirmed to the Richmond News that the body is not that of missing Richmond woman Sierra Dawn Watson, who has not been seen since May 20.
