Witnesses sought in ‘suspicious’ Richmond shooting

Richmond RCMP is seeking witnesses for a suspicious shooting near Westminster Highway and Gilbert Road in Richmond

Richmond RCMP is asking the public for possible witnesses after a man was found with apparent gun injuries in Richmond on Monday morning.

Officers responded to a call from Richmond Hospital regarding a man suffering from "injuries consistent with a shooting" on Jan. 3 around 8:30 a.m.

The man has received emergency medical assistance.

Anyone driving in the area of Westminster Highway and Gilbert Road between 8 and 8:15 a.m. on Jan. 3 is asked to review any dashcam footage they may have and provide it to police.

“At this moment, this appears to be an isolated incident. The motive and conduct of this investigation is now with our Serious Crimes Unit,” said Cpl. Dennis Hwang, spokesperson for the Richmond RCMP, in a media statement.
